Greetings, comrades! It's been a while. A long while.
If you're actually still following me at all, I applaud you. *applause*
A few quick updates on myself to answer some questions and fill in the gaps since my last entry here:
I'd rather not give too much away online, but I'll still share some stuff: This past June/July I fulfilled my life's dream of going to German by partaking in a three-week exchange; four days in Salzburg, Austria (just me and my fellow Americans), two and a half weeks in Weilheim-in-Oberbayern, Germany (with a host family). I drank beer, rode trains, ate shittons of bread, watched the World Cup, hiked in the Alps, visited Dachau, saw all three of crazy Ludwig's castles, and used the words "also" and "entschuldigung" waaaaaaay too much. You know, essentially living like a real German XD
In August I began my freshman year of college/university at American University (yes, that's actually the name of the school, American University!) in Washington DC. So far, it's been a blast. I could not have picked a better school. I'm learning so much and have met so many people. All of the years of work I have put in building up to this moment have been entirely worth it. And to be honest, I'm happier then I ever have been in my entire life!
I've done lots of drawing actually, from crude sketches of a cyber-punk Bavaria to tasteful cartoons of American University's mascot. Not a lot of it has been for show, just a way to vent ideas or deal with the world as I see it. I've been working more with color, which has helped immensely towards improving my drawings as a whole. My general sketchwork improves gradually, although I've made some big progress in terms of drawing people, a direct result of a wonderful anatomy class I took my last year of high school. You might see some of these pictures, as well as some photos of Germany, in the near future. But don't count on it.
I have also been delving more and more into creative literature. I've churned out a few solid short story ideas, one of which is a complete draft, two of which are still incomplete. I've had two main strains of ideas that have lead to the creation of two novels in my head, one of which I've started to passively pursue. What does all of this mean? Well, you may be seeing more literature as opposed to illustration from me in the future. Hopefully this will not be a problem.
#3- Life Online-
I'm not sure how much more involved on DA I will be in the future. I'd like to potentially use it as a platform for my art, photos, and stories in a more professional manner, but Tumblr might be a better option for that.
In the meantime, I have to get a Twitter account for one of my classes, and already have created a Facebook account for myself due to the pressures of my generation. If you are interested in following me with either, let me know.
Don't expect me to be online much except for schoolwork and Steam. I'm a busy man still, and plan to keep my life full and enriching in whatever ways I can.
Well, that's all I got for ya right now.
